Fallen Tour was the first worldwide tour for Evanescence. It served to promote the release of their album Fallen, as well as spreading the name of the band in general.

Development Edit

The first show took place January 13, 2003 in Little Rock, Arkansas (the band's origins) in a cafeteria for a small audience. Starting January 24, a series of shows began all over US territory, which ended on May 26 in the city of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Days later, the band performed their first international concert starting in Barcelona, Spain, followed by a short tour around the European continent. On June 7, 2003, Evanescence appeared in the German festival Rock am Ring, giving them more publicity than they've ever had in the past.

In July of the same year, the band performed four concerts in Australia and Japan, which were followed by an extensive American tour in August and September 2003. The following month, the band traveled to Europe and performed for 24 shows in several countries. On the morning of October 22, 2003, Evanescence lead guitarist and co-founder Ben Moody unexpectedly left the band due to "creative differences"; Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo was invited to replace Moody by the end of Tour, and eventually joined the band officially.

In January 2004 the band returned to Oceania and Japan with 14 shows in total. They returned to the United States in February for a tour that lasted untiil May 2004; Weeks later, the band toured Europe again to perform the last tour on the continent. The concert in Paris, France was used for the recording of the live album Anywhere but Home, which was released months later in November 2004. On May 30, the band performed at the Rock in Rio Lisbon festival along with Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Charlie Brown Jr. and Seether. In July of the same year, the band returned to North America to finish the last concerts of the tour that ended on August 14, 2004 in the Alltel Arena in Little Rock.
